Pelox Pasivating

It is a popular misconception that Pickling Paste can also perform a Passivating role. Stainless Steel owes its corrosion resistance to a microscopic Passive Layer. This Passive Layer needs to be restored after Pickling.
Pickling paste cannot both Pickle and Passivate.
